Before you get your new pet you should know what to expect. Know what kind of breed you want. How much do they shed? How much do they need to run? How much time and money are you willing to devote to your dog? Most people are only interested in getting a puppy. Although some older dogs can be a nice addition to the family as well and they may already come trained. Personally I enjoy older dogs because they have less energy and you dont have to worry to much about any training issues. They are there as more of a companion instead of a baby. The is a lot less stress in owning a older dog. And you dont have to worry about those expensive puppy vaccinations. Either way you go you should be willing to devote time to your dog as well as money.
